Chris Cornell Quits Audioslave

Only for one gig so far. But with this it could mean a permanent reform. I think Chris knew that Rage were going to play either Glastonbury or Download (or both ;)), and decided to leave now on his own terms rather than be forced to because his band mates leave him.

Zack left Rage because the rest of the band changed managment and decided to release Renagades. He didn't want to release Renagades and as a result, left because the "decision making process" had "broken down".

I thought Zack left Rage because he was more interested in the message in the music than being a huge band. But the band where getting more focused on becoming big. And the final straw being the incident with Commerford at the MTV awards.

Kind of glad tbh as Cornell had become the weakest link now that his voice is ****ed. If this paves the way for a RATM reunion for good I'd be very happy.

It'll be interesting to see who gets the rights to the Audioslave songs for playing live.
If Cornell will or Rage will, if there is a rage reunion.

Not too fussed.
Liked the first album, wasn't bothered about the next two.
That said, I really liked Euphoria Morning so I'm looking forward to CC's new solo album.

Lol, what are you on about? His voice has peaked now and is 100 times better since he's given up smoking and drinking. His tone has gotten slightly smoother but still nice and rough, and his range has gone up as well.

I hope neither as they would spoil the set for both artists.

Worst thing Cornell did was hear Jeff Buckley's music and become involved in the "Sketches..." selections.

Yeap it probably would, but i dare say they will try it.
iirc AudioSlave would do a few rage songs live, dunno if they done any Soundgarden though.

Although i think Zack doing Set it off could be quite good.

Audioslave did do RATM and Soundgarden songs. Bulls on Parade (intro and solo only though) going into Sleep Now in the Fire, Spoonman, Black Hole Sun and Outshined when they played Cuba - and Killing in the Name at Live8 in Berlin.

Cornell used to wind up the Audioslave gigs with a few acoustic soundgarden and temple of the dog numbers.

When I saw them in Manc the Soundgarden and TotD bit was by far the best for me.....

Mind you I saw Soundgarden YEARS ago supporting Guns & Roses knowing nothing about them and the blew GnR off the stage, (as did faith no more actually).

Saw RATM with Tool as well.... but now im just feeling freaking old.

Cornell's brother?

Yeah, I'm surprised that he is so relatively unknown with a famous older brother. His band have a myspace profile with a few songs on it. They sound very like early Soundgarden. :)
