Chris Moyles Longest Show

Think how many millions of people there are in UK or specifically people that would be good at playing music and talking and you relise we have been stuck with this turd for far too long.

Give us some alternatives then, who do you want doing the job, who to you is funny?

That is the problem, if you have the same guy for 5 years how do you know that he is the best. give someone else a chance.

and I mean literally a different person every week until they crack it although perhaps not live on the Breakfast show

But I honestly feel that the BBC and specifically BBC radio presenters don't get fired and hired enough, it must be an average of a 50 year staff turn over. It seems once you are in you are in. No matter how rubbish you are they hardly then sack you.

Sarah cox is really annoying for most people but she hung around for ages. I know she is hot but come on, get rid.

Because he has consistently good listening figures?

He started at Radio 1 in 1997, and has worked his way up to the Breakfast show because of the fact he's popular. They didn't just put him there on a whim.

until they crack it

And that's exactly what happened.
The listening figures for Moyles went through the roof and (AFAIK) they're still very high.
I can't think of anybody who could fill that role and get more listeners than him and that's what the business is all about.

Oh, and I don't listen to him either.

Considering prior to Moyles you had Sara Cox doing the morning show it isn't that much of a suprise.

I've listened on and off to moyles since his Drive time slot many moons ago but these days I don't listen to it,. He is the kind of guy that can be funny one minute and the next you can't stand him.

So change a good thing just because.... ?

Are you a premier league chairman by the way ?

So basically you have no idea who you would like doing the job instead?
Others are being given a chance with the radio slots they already have, they won't instantly become better when they get at 6.30am slot.

Greg James is now hotly tipped for the job. He's a nice guy but his show is far from interesting or funny.

Scott Mills was seen as the natural successor and he's been doing the exact same show for years, removing one cackling women to laugh at his jokes with another exactly the same.

If there was someone better they would have replaced him already. Listen to the parody song Greg James did when the movie guy left last week. It was tragic compared to some of the parodies Moyles and his team have done.

He's also exactly the same age as Moyles, but Moyles is better. If Moyles is to be replaced, it will almost certainly be on age vs target audience grounds. Or him getting fed up with it - he's had the gig over 7 years now.

I don't think Mills would've ever got Breakfast unless Moyles ended up leaving for some other reason.

Got no time for Greg James either he's the radio equivalent of beige got nothing entertaining or interesting to say at all, would hardly be cutting edge on the breakfast show.

Scott Mills is the obvious one as he's the cover when Chris is away but he's 36 and Chris is 37 so would be a bit hypocritical if they moved Chris on for Scott to get their demographic down!

None of their current young DJ's who would be in position to get the job (James, Fearne Cotton, Dev etc) are remotely up to the job currently imo.

I seriously can't find the video of Olly Murs doing the impression of Paulo Nutini and James Blunt. Theres a video on youtube, but its terrible quality. R1 website has the slow motion thing, and the Hero song.

HELPMEPLZ.

But for young people it is. I really like his show. I can see him working on the morning show.

I can see GJ getting it over Mills tbh. His show is better. Mills was better with chappers (who has done well to move in to tv).

Starfighter, you talk rubbish tbh. Moyles is the best person for the job, how do we know that? He has the most listeners of all the similar shows, anyone who has a chance against him is already in a breakfast show..... all of which do not match moyles.

I listen to Chris Moyles every morning on my way into work. It always gets a laugh out of me, which is quite a feat at the time of the morning.

What I don't get though - Comedy Dave. Where did the comedy in Comedy Dave come from? I've never encountered such a dull character.

I thought so, I can't say I listen to the show much now as I don't really like Moyles, but he certainly wouldn't be as popular without Dave imho, Dave's a very big part of why the show is so good.

Yeah Dave is the brains of the operation! The 'comedy' moniker is meant to be ironic.

Him and Chris play off each other well I think, he's like the straight man to Chris it wouldn't work if you had 2 people trying to be loud and funny.

Dave was better when he wasn't married. It knocks the life out of everyone it seems. :)

Chappers! I'd forgot about him, he was so damn funny.
