So with the big day looming what bird or joint are you having for Christmas lunch?

We will be having a traditional goose, none of this turkey malarkey. :D

Can a mod create a poll please?

My christmas food plans... Well, not so much plans... requirements...

Christmas eve lunch @ Other half's brothers place - Goose
Christmas eve evening @ Other half's dads place - Beef wellington
Christmas day lunch @ My parents place - Hot roast pork butties :D It's a tradition that I love.
Cristmas day evening @ My parents place - Fore rib of beef *I believe it's 6.5kg this year*
Boxing day lunch @ Other half's sister and her wife's place - Beef wellington again
Boxing day evening @ Other half's mum's place - Spit roast lamb in the garden
December 27th @ My parents place. Suffer.

Standing rib roast here, just got to decide how many ribs to go for

Turkey day was back at the end of November after all :p

Christmas is all about one thing and nothing else.

Pigs in blankets :D.

Dates in smoked streaky bacon. :D

You are BOTH right. I had some "bates" or bacon dates the other month and my god they are amazing. Like, seriously. Damn I'm going to have to make some now.

We're having Pork Belly with red cabbage apple and mash with cider gravy on Christmas eve, as it's our tradition. Fillet of beef on the day with all the roast trimmings. I've made a stuffing roll already which is like pork, bacon, walnuts, cranberries, port, sage, breadcrumbs etc.
We're heading to the mountains on 28th to see the mother, who has a turkey to bring for then :D

All bases, covered.

EDIT: I also have a couple of hams... Mrs and I are not at all competitive, so she wants to do her honey roast ham and I want to do my orange and ginger beer ham, so we'll do them too. Cold meat heaven.

You sir, are doing this **** properly.

Down at my in-laws again, and after a few years of a cheap supermarket turkey, I decided a couple of years ago to take over the Turkey buying. So I've ordered a free range bronze feathered Turkey crown (they insist it must be a crown) for Christmas day. It will be accompanied by a joint of beef that I don't get, so it's not likely to be a very good joint :(. Plenty of pigs in blankets, and now after reading this thread, I've decided to make some dates in streaky bacon too :).

ahh, the beauty of TG.
Likewise, turkey has been and gone so I am going for a pot roast beef, or just the biggest t-bone steak you can imagine as i will likely be alone for xmas.

Not a fan of filling the only oven with a monster bird, so 'bird in blankets' to go with the pigs in blankets; turkey fillets coated with home made apple sauce (+ dash of cider) and wrapped completely in smoked bacon. You win a prize if you can still taste turkey.

Bought my dates and smoked bacon yesterday and ordered my fillet of beef to be collected on the 23rd. She asked me how much I wanted, I said 3kg, she said they come in 2kg fillets, so I ordered 2... 4kg of beef for 7. Seems legit.

Eating mince pies now. I think tonight I'll cook up one of my hams. I might make up some mulled cider too but unsure how long it'll last? I'll no doubt get ****ed tonight and get shouted at.
