My girlfriend is having a lot of trouble with her computer. When you switch it on the fans are spinning, but that's all that happens, no beeps and nothing on the screen.
The comp was running on default settings, with nothing overclocked. I've tried disconnecting dvd, hd, ram, graphics card, but it doesn't make any difference. It's only around 9 months old.
One strange thing is that when I connect the plug at the back it goes straight on, whereas normally you need to press the power button at the back.
Any ideas guys? Fried mobo or psu?

. but it COULD be the CPU - have you tried booting without a CPU? some motherboards will still give the diagnostic lights with no CPU, and if it seems to "boot" as well as it could, ie it tells you there is no CPU, then maybe the CPU is the problem.
