1. eve's
2. eves' or
3. eves

please explain the differences Mr Grammar Nazi and all! :)

The 23rd of December.
Or the day before Christmas Eve.

Or if you want to be weird, Christmas Eve's eve..
's as there's only one Christmas Eve.

Could well be Christmas Eve Eve though.
I doubt there's a standard usage for this day :p

Is there something I've missed that's so special about this day?

It's the latter part of Christmas day that amuses me. It's correct name is "Christmas Night", but I hear tons of people calling it "Christmas Day Night". Makes me chuckle every time.

But then my mother always used to call the latter portion of Christmas Eve "Christmas Night", reserving Christmas Eve as the daytime portion of that day.

Phew, that took some effort actually typing that.

If you want to use double eve, then it'd be Christmas Eve Eve. It's not "Christmas' Eve", so it's not "Christmas Eve's Eve" either. Eve.

Technically it's Christmas Eve's eve, because it is the eve of Christmas Eve i.e. it belongs to Christmas eve.

In reality, it's December 23rd.
