if in laws are coming, earmuffs and plenty of spirts would get added to mine

starter, prawn cocktail, and soup/cob as gf lad doesn't like prawns

main, turkey, roast spuds, 4 veg- 2 roasted, bacon rapped little sausages with plenty of stuffing, pot load of gravy.

pudding, steamed crimbo pud with fresh brandy cream sauce.

cheese and biscuits / choc's until sick or asleep which ever comes first

I will be at my parents for xmas this year which means I don't have to do the shopping.

Therefore, my list consists of:

Beer
Whiskey

:D

We're having beef this year as we're not at ours. Picking up a nice 2KG fillet on Friday and some smoked salmon.
I'm pretty chilled this year as I'm not the one doing it all, but sure I'll chime in.

I've made the mother bring over 96 sausages wrapped in bacon from the UK though. Wasn't missing out on those!

Gourmet Christmas Feast £69.00

2.4kg Christmas Turkey Breast Roast
1kg Cumberland Cocktail Sausages
2.27kg Unsmoked Streaky Bacon
100g Christmas Sage & Onion Stuffing
Cranberry Sauce with Port
170g Cottage Delight Goose Fatgoose
Barry Colenso Artisan After Dinner Treats (3x 50g)

I splashed out this year and ordered from Westin Gourmet. I offered to cook the Xmas lunch for Mum too. She will be cooking a pork joint but I am doing the rest.

Still need to get a load of supplies and a couple of bottles of brandy to drown out the dulcit family arguments after dinner.

We are just the two of us this year so we can push the boat out a bit.

I'm gonna have a go at cooking Michel Roux Jr recipie for Oeuf Poche Careme with Blinis for breakfast, and then a salad/picking table all day and lobster thermidor for christmas dinner :)

Also plenty of champers (Moet Chandon is our favourite and pretty reasonable) and some decent beers and whiskey/brandy/port :D

We will do something more traditional next year when we are more.

looks good .. personally it's a tradition to make our bacon rolls with streaky bacon / onion / sausage meat for a very melt in the mouth experience. :)

That sounds lovely :)

White sauce thickened with slightly stalembread rather than flour, basically. It's amazing but has fallen out of fashion. Best served with "dry" white meat, say turkey/chicken.

This essentially.

It's a real shame that it has fallen out of fashion as it's really nice with fowl.

We usually get our turkey from a local butchers. Always get a good deal and the standard is great. Just popped into Asda for some beers and it was rammed!
