(:
OMGZ:confused::confused: why you not making homemade yorkies and roasties /faints.:p

have to agree with home cooked roasties, but i do cheat and get waitrose own yorkies.. miles better than aunt bessies :p

But Yorkshire puddings take seconds to make :( And so much tastier and cheaper than any shop bought stuff. :D

My mum did 11 different veg with Christmas dinner last year... Wonder how many to expect this year? :)

Not cooking so the only thing I bought today was a bottle of veuve clicquot for me and the other half :)

havent done any shopping yet. will be going to morrisons/tesco/butcher on monday to get some beef fillet, vegetables, cheese, port, wine, etc. not a big fan of turkey

After going to waitrose, M&S, Tesco and about £200 later we've finally finished our Christmas shop, supermarkets are horrible places to be at this time of year.

Again why buy roasties/Yorkie pudding?

They are so so easy to make and cheap. Seems criminal to cheat anytime of the year nevermind Xmas dinner

I could understand the yorkshires as frozen ones aren't too bad, but frozen roast potatoes are disgusting.

I've been to three ASDAs today. :( Think I'm sorted though. All my beer is over at my mums already so just need to take myself over tomorrow night.

if i cba im going to pop round to Tesco later, they closed at 4pm but open back up at midnight with freshly stocked shelfs and hopefully not too many people :)

Did the food shop yesterday

Main purchases

4.5kg Bone in Gammon
8kg Turkey
5kg White potatoes
Sausage Meat
Streaky bacon
Carrots
Peas
Broccoli
Asparagus
Cauliflower

Dinner will consist of 12 hour slow roast honey baked Gammon, Turkey, this will be stuffed with the sausage meat which gets a completely different flavour and beats normal stuffing, which will be done on the side.

For the potatoes today I have peeled, washed, cut and boiled about 4.5kg of them, tomorrow that will be rolled into one inch balls which will then be dipped in egg and rolled in breadcrumbs before being fried off ready to be reheated in the oven on Christmas day.

Cauliflower, asparagus and broccoli will be steamed, peas will be boiled and the carrots are going to be steam baked in a tin foil pouch with honey, butter, salt, lashings of pepper and a touch of water.

Oh and the streaky bacon has two uses, one is to make pigs in blankets with mini sausages and the other is to cover the turkey for when it bakes. This crispy bacon will be used to mix with the other meats and mayonnaise (and maybe a little swiss cheese) as sandwich fillers for boxing day evening.

Forgot to say, I will be popping to Tescos early tomorrow morning to grab milk, bread croissants and other pastries, orange juice and salad.
