Surprised we haven't got a Christmas Lunch thread yet... What is everyone cooking (and drinking)?

A vegan in the household, so need to make two things for each course! Hopefully do all the shopping tomorrow morning in Lidl, went in today at 8am and it was well stocked and empty.

Starter
Celeriac soup with sourdough (vegan)
Smoked salmon, fennel & celeriac salad

Main
Roasted duck with a cherry sauce & all the trimmings (including (vegan) Yorkies!) and (vegan) gravy. (https://www.theguardian.com/food/20...ohansen-scandinavian-christmas-dinner-recipes)
Some sort of seitan roast Wellington... (vegan) (https://veganhuggs.com/vegan-holiday-roast/)

Pudding

Christmas pudding & custard
Chocolate and Cinnamon rice pudding and caramelised almonds (vegan) (https://www.theguardian.com/food/20...gan-spiced-chocolate-kheer-with-almond-chikki)

Cheese

I went to the cheese monger yesterday, and the queue was stupid and I can't be bothered going back so I'll save the fancy cheese for hogmanay and just get Stilton, Goats, Brie and Cheddar from the supermarket.

Drinks

Sparkling - Juve & Camps Gran Reserva Brut Nature Reserva de la Familia 2016 Cava.
Red - Gusbourne Pinot Noir, Savage Follow the Line, and will pick up some Beaujoulais and another couple of random bottles from Majestic tomorrow.
White - Random bottle or two from Majestic.

Dishoom Cocktail Mix (https://store.dishoom.com/permit-room-collection)
Case of Brewdog mix.
Got a bunch of Overtone beers chilling in the fridge.
Caol Ila 6 for whisky.

Prosciutto & asparagus fritatas, herringsalat, maybe eggs benedict, probably a crustade gentyle and/or maybe a whitefish klump, and then whatever desserts are in the cupboard. Might do cheese if the Mrs buys some in.

Drinks - I mostly drink coffee. Everyone else gets water or whatever we have in, unless they bring their own. Most people attack my Balvenie or ask me to make them a vodka martini, as I don't drink so am the only one sober enough to mix them properly.

I'll be on my own, but I have a nice steak in the fridge. Steak, potatoes, port wine sauce, followed by lemon tart. I'll break out a half bottle of a good French wine. Then I'll break out a boxed set of something.

Food-wise, a two bone Forerib of Belted Galloway beef from Yew Tree Farm in Coniston. Everything else is just noise.

Drinks-wise, the bubbles are Collet Brut 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs NV, Jacquart Mosaique Signature NV, and a Taittinger Brut Reserve (a present, I think). The white is a couple of Assyrtikos, a NZ SB, and Cave de L'Ormarine Picpoul de Pinet. For reds: David Finlayson Camino Africana Cabernet Franc 2016 (again, it is so delish), Barbaresco Roncaglie 2015 Poderi Colla, L'Orme de Rauzan-Gassies, Haut-Medoc 2016 (x2 for the boeuf), an interesting Portuguese blend called Carmim Monsaraz Reserva 2017, an SA Pinotage, and an Argy Malbec. Many of these choices were informed by the Decanter World Wine awards 2020. It's one way to find interesting stuff you might not otherwise buy. The Portuguese blend was £13 and won best in show!

We obvs have gin (Aldi's own, 'Greysons', superb) and tonic, and we have Vanilla Absolut, Passoa, and Kahlua for Pornstar and Espresso Martinis.

For context this is for three people, one of whom doesn't drink much at all.

E: spelling bad, mmkay

E2: I usually receive a special Armagnac for Chrimbo too.

E3: The cab franc is the only one I have had before!!!

Just the wife and 2 kids for Christmas this year. Wife is pescatarian so no meat on the main menu but I get the meat in the snacking later.

Breakfast - Bucks Fizz to start the day off then a smoked salmon filled cheese and black pepper muffin with egg (possibly poached or scrambled not sure yet) and dill dressing

Lunch - Salmon Wellington with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, asparagus, leek & sprout concoction

Desserts available - lemon tarts and sticky toffee puddings

Snacks through the rest of the day/evening - party foods such as tiger prawns, pigs in blankets, mozarella sticks, a plethora of cheeses, twiglets and cheeselets

Booze - Prosecco, White Wine, Lager, Tequila, Triple Sec, Rum, Brandy

Lamb Leg this year. Sous Vide'd last week and in the freezer ready to finish off Christmas Day, Caramelised Onion pigs in blankets, Honey Butter Roasted Carrots and Parsnips, Chorizo Brussels, then some standard Roast Spuds (Duck Fat) and Brocolli.

Then gorge on 50% sherry trifle and Mince Pies for the rest of the day. Washed down using the copious amounts of unused Lanson Black Label we bought for our wedding reception that wasn't required in the end... cheers COVID.

I will be on my own.

I will have tsar fillet of smoked salmon to start and/or king prawn cocktail

I have a spatchcock poussin but I would like a ham - a bit much for one but it keeps well and good for left overs! I will have roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips with some green veg too.

I've not got a pudding and I doubt I'll really need any after the above!

Drinks I have plenty of beers and got a nice bottle of chateauneuf for the main meal.

Whoop

Baked camembert with garlic and thyme for a starter.

Roast rib of beef, Yorkshire pudding, goose fat roasties, dauphinoise potatoes, and white wine steamed carrots for a main.

A long lie down followed by a metric ***kton of cheese for dessert.

I'm on my own for the day, so plan to have my starter at lunchtime, my main late afternoon, and cheese late. Then left over beef forevermore.

Prawn cocktail
Full roast beef dinner. Spring greens, sprouts, cauliflower, Yorkshire puds etc. etc.
Christmas jam roly poly and custard
I'll be drinking Heineken 0.0 or Dandelion & Burdock.

Christmas Eve we usually have dirty takeaway, but not this year, we’re having a bread/cracker and cheese selection as work sent me a hamper. MrsHB will have some port, I’ll stick with the ciders.

No starter for us this year, just the two of us so we can’t be bothered.

Breakfast will be Buck’s Fizz and some bacon rolls with some nice smoked back bacon and home made rolls.

Late lunch, slow cooked turkey crown and all the trimmings with some cranberry cider.

I think we have cheese cake and Eaton mess for dessert and ice creams of varying flavours.

Then just normal snacking/picking throughout the day and ending with an 8 hour power nap.

Fancied a change this year, so doing mostly Asian food.

Smoked salmon and blinis, bottle of Cremant.

Pork gyoza., Miso soup, edamame, a few other sides.

Char Siu pork belly with rice and greens.

Christmas pud,

Various wines, rum, gin, sake.

Standard M&S collection order. This year, i pushed for Beef, so went with a dry-aged Rib of Beef and a small turkey crown.

Few bottles of decent champagne. Looking forward to trying Ruinart this year (never tried before). However, fingers crossed Krug 2004 should arrive today.

I'm making roast butternut squash soup for starters.

Main is a choice of a 3 bird roast or roast beef (done in the pressure cooker) and the usual veggy choices.

Dessert is either ginger bombe or passion fruit roulade.
