Christmas Steam Sale!

Most of the people who criticize No Man's Sky are either oblivious to it's current state of progress, or still stuck on the hate bandwagon from yesteryear! The game has improved substantially since launch, thanks to a series of QOL updates which improve the core mechanics and add a lot more content. It certainly has more going for it than your average linear shooter!

Edit: Just take a look at the list of changes and see for yourself:

That's just one update! The preceding ones were just as substantial.

I reinstalled and tried it again boxing day it was still an utter steaming pile of letterbox droppings.

Already bought Prey & Quantum Break, currently have the following in my cart:

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Steep
Starbound
Planet Coaster
Steam Link

No man's sky is actually a fairly decent game now. HG have stuck with it, added so much extra to the game and with the likes of RayRod and his incredible v10 overhaul, the game is bloody good now.

Wildlands is great. Best game visually I have played. Don't expect it to do anything new. But what it does it does very well indeed :)

Tempted by...

Starbound
Elite Dangerous (Never played this type of game before, but keep watching live streams)
No Mans Sky

Got a space itch for "Meh / Mixed Reviewed" games, with the exception of Starbound from what I can see! :)

Thanks, pulled the trigger (I probably would have bought Wildlands at this price just for the Predator DLC!) Also Added Dirt 4 & some Half life expansions I had never played for 79p each!

I'm not a fan of 2D side-scrolling games in this day and age, so I can't comment on Starbound.

Elite Dangerous is very immersive in VR, although you're tethered to your ship for the most part, except for a small landing craft which you can use to explore terrestrial moons and planets. There are lots of interstellar sights to behold, like black holes, hypergiant stars, pulsars, ring systems etc.

No Man's Sky has improved significantly since launch, as I've explained above. See my collection of screenshots to see how varied and vibrant it is!
There's a wealth of content available, from base building and planetary exploration, to space combat and story-driven missions.

Try it! You could always refund it if doesn't meet your expectations.

Should I do Witcher 1/2 or just go right to 3?

Thanks :)

I didn't bother. They've made it so that it doesn't affect the story in any way, apart from obviously not knowing some characters. I'm sure you can watch a catch up video or something on YouTube though.

I tried 2 after 3 and just wasn't feeling it. 3 is incredible though.

As I have just bought myself a new computer (arriving Sat 6 Jan :) ) I have gone a bit crazy with some oldies and some games that have been on my wishlist for a while:
Cities skyline
Civilization 5 (much cheaper than the latest)
Civilization 4 - colonization
GTA5
Witcher 3
DLCs for Skyrim (I have a big urge to get back into this game)

Any recommendations for some historical flight Sims?

Il2: Battle of stalingrad is fairly good deal at £20 imo

Bought Civilization 6 (Just played an hour, not sure if I like it yet though), ELEX and SteamWorld Dig 2. That probably keep me busy for a while. :p

I usually don't bother with the steam sale because its cheaper elsewhere most of the time.

However this time.....and so far...

-Deus Ex Mankind Divided Season Pass
-Fallout Classic Collection
-Cuphead
-Black Mesa
-Just Cause 3 XL
-Shadowrun Hong Kong Extended

DLCs for Skyrim (I have a big urge to get back into this game)

Oh and this.....I cant put the game down at the moment whether it's on my Switch or my PC.....

Heavily modded on the PC it is a thing of beauty
