Christmas Steam Sale!

I grabbed Far Cry 3, after messing around with UPlay and failing to get into my account I refunded it. Picked up Borderlands 2 instead, loving it so far. Which is more than I can say about the first one!

I didn't bother. They've made it so that it doesn't affect the story in any way, apart from obviously not knowing some characters. I'm sure you can watch a catch up video or something on YouTube though.

I tried 2 after 3 and just wasn't feeling it. 3 is incredible though.
I think playing the first two would be beneficial but definitely agree that playing either after you've played 3 will be massively underwhelming.

TW1 first few chapters are drudgery in all honesty and the combat is not very satisfying by today's standards. Shame because there is some great storytelling. TW2 is still a great game IMO and I'd like to do another playthrough.

Yep it's well worth £11.

They will have them for £4 @ GAME as well if there is one local...

I'm going to order one to give it a try. Can't go wrong for £11 surely. Hope it works ok over my power over Ethernet connection. Otherwise I'll have to run a long Ethernet cable through the house whenever I want to game using it

The only bundles I can see for it on the game website include the controller which I don't want.

Have you seen the device itself for £4 in store?

For those buying a link, just fyi if you by chance have a modern Samsung tv 2016-17 I think, they have a steam link App you can download and so far it's identical to using the link itself. Really good, 4k support coming

Is the link and controller worth it for £27 ?

Depends how much use you'll get out of it. I enjoy the Steam Link but in reality don't use it too much so the £20 I paid seems better spent elsewhere but It'd be great if you see yourself doing a lot of gaming on a big screen. The controller is very marmite though and you'd be better off reading reviews and considering the types of games you play...I probably wouldn't want one myself.

Cheers I might give it a whirl for £4 :D ...
If I didn't want to get the steam controller though will my ps4 or switch pad work?

I've read you can use a Xbox one controller over Bluetooth and a PS4 controller so you should be good. Bear in mind it's £11 by the time you include postage!

I love mine it's brilliant, you can even minimise steam and use your pc on the tv.

Mines wired through my switch and there's no discernible lag.

It's awesome for the £15 I paid.

Grabbed a Steam Link for the missus so she can game in the lounge and The Jackbox Party Packs as they were a lot of fun last weekend with 5 of us playing.
Nothing else has tempted me
