Hey all,

Got a weird one here, I use Chrome at home and at work but for some reason by work one is playing up. Basically when I try to stream video from any site (not just Youtube, seems to be any flash video) it loads up OK, buffers and starts playing but then stalls (like it has been paused) for no reason after less than 10 seconds. There is plenty of buffered data after then so it's not a buffering issue and if I click along the timeline to another point in the video it will play that bit for a second or two and then stall again. Pressing Pause/Play doesn't get it started and I've left it for a couple of minutes before to see if it kicks back into life.

I have tried reinstalling Chrome but with no luck, video is fine on any other browser so it's not a network issue. I also tried switching to the HTML5 version of Youtube and disabling Flash in Chrome using "about:plugins" but with the same result.

It's a little annoying to say the least!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Russ

Try disabling the hardware acceleration in flash (right click on video), also updating flash could help fix any issues.

Don't know then mate. I had this problem with Chrome (flash vids would green screen a lot too) and tried everything but nothing worked so I ended up using Firefox - since reinstalling windows after a motherboard upograde Chrome works fine now. That's a bit of a major fix though unless you're doing it anyway :)

On older machines, the caching of Chrome screw up sync on mine - audio slowly gets out of time with the visual. This is on my work PC with oooooooold graphics card so it could be a hardware related thing.
As always, my advice is to ensure your drivers are up to date! If not, it may be best to use Firefox (or whatever) for video sites (this is what I do at work; I mainly use Chrome though as I am a fan of the style/speed!)
