What was the cost for a duke package again?
Far too much money but cheaper than it is today. The only reason I could afford it was because of an alignment on good things happening which was a birthday and having a small amount in savings which I could put towards the purchase. It is no secret that a Duke package cost $3.5k when I purchased it. I justified the purchase to myself thinking that if I got as much playtime as I did in EverQuest then it would be worth it. Time will tell I suppose.
Would I do it again? Hmm tough one. I've certainly met some great people through Chronicles of Elyria so far but it is a hell of a lot of money. I think if I could get my money back I probably would. I'm trying to fund a programming and general systems blog where I need a lot of equipment and that is quite expensive. $3.5k would certainly pay for everything that I need with a shed load of money left over for other things but I made a bit of an impulsive purchase and that is all there is to it.
Thats a lot of money for game time, I guess I could afford it, but could never justify it, as you a OcUK'er will definitely join your duchy, not to sure how much of the guild will join this game, time will tell.
It is a hell of a lot of money I know and I had trouble justifying it myself. But at the time I paid I was doing OK because I was running a business so I thought if I got 10 years worth of pleasure out of the game it would be worth it in the end. Unfortunately I'm not in such a good place now and frankly I could do with the money back but there are no refunds so I'll just have to make sure I get the most enjoyment from the game that I can

It includes links back to my kingdom as well. I highly recommend that you that you join both the Duchy and Kingdom discord channels to get to know everyone. The one thing about Chronicles of Elyria is that absolutely everyone uses Discord to communicate so it is essential that you create a Discord account and install the desktop (and optionally) the mobile client to talk with the community. I didn't like Discord either at first (I'm a long time IRC user) but I got used to it. When I said the entire Chronicles of Elyria community uses Discord. I really mean the ENTIRE community does. Each county, duchy, kingdom, guild, organisation etc etc has their own Discord channel and it is the primary way that CoE players communicate with each other. If you don't use Discord you will be missing out in a big way. I wrote a blog post about the Dance of Dynasties which is going on right now within the game. It is really very interesting to see how the communities are forming and the players are organising. So I would highly recommend you rethink not using Discord. You will miss out on so much if you don't use it.

. I've got a $40 alt account which I'll use just to do some low level adventuring and stuff.Without reading into this/watching the video i would be put off by your title lol. Aging and dying....people put a tonne of time into mmo characters ,only to have it die off would be crazy. I assume that there is a way to continue as i say i havent read into it. But for someone like myself the prospect of aging and dying in no way appeals lol.
Yeah you can reincarnate into a new soul (your children). You also need to buy sparks of life after a while if you run out. I'm not sure how long a spark lasts though.
Also don't be discouraged by people like me who have important sounding titles. Although we will start the game with the title but there is nothing stopping other players from taking over my title if I don't play the game well enough.
There is currently an event going on where they are giving out free copies of the base game to some people who participate. If you are interested let me know and I'll get you involved in my player group who are organising things.

Crom - I know that a really good MMO can use up most of a persons gaming time, let alone more than one really good MMO, when is CoE due to release, do you foresee a clash with finding time to play both CoE and Pantheon that may force you to choose one of them to play or are you planning to play both?
I'll be playing both. Both games are sufficiently different to mean that they appeal to different areas of my gaming enjoyment. Pantheon is essentially an old-school PvE game whereas Chronicles of Elyria is a PvP game with a heavy player political bias. Both of them interest me.

Only asking as in the past I've had tremendous difficulty dedicating enough time to multiple MMOs simultaneously to get enough done in either of them, but that's maybe because I try to do too much
Sounds epic, but there’s no way in gods green earth I could dedicate the kind of time a title like this would need.
The only game I play that requires a lot of time is Rust, and because everything resets to zero I can just drop in and out when I have time.
I’ll stick to my single player campaigns, but hope everyone enjoys and the game is a success. $3.5k requires series dedication, good luck to you @Cromulent hope it pans out.
