Well, I managed to pass my first two computer based assessments yesterday :) I can't say that I foundd them that difficult in comparison to my physics degree, but still, revising was a bit dull, although i didn't do that much. I have two more this month so am just getting into economics and corporate governance which may prove a bit more stimulating.

How many of us are in the middle of CIMA/ACCA then?

That's my thinking, just getting started on managing tax and VAT at work so will have a lot of experience by the end of the year. Looking forward to sitting 2 professional exams in may :D

Just finished my first round of managerial papers with CIMA, passed both, BARELY!

One thing which tripped me up was the pure ease of the certificate papers (2 hours revision the night before, BAM, pass!).

You actually HAVE to revise like you're at Uni with the normal professional papers :(

What is annoying is e.g. P1 Management Accounting, going through a few past papers and a few good hours of revision is enough. But for P7 Tax and Reporting or something or other it took twice the amount of revision because there's so much information to learn!

As you can tell i'm not one to do my homework and am a fanboy of last minute revision!

:D

interesting, that's how I did C01 and C04, they were pretty easy tbh in comparison to how little work I did. P1 and P7 is my route for May sitting so it's good to hear that P1 is pretty straighforward.

Just thought I'd post an update. I passed C01 Fundamentals of management accounting today. I have economics next week to look forward to.

Tha paper today was pretty straighforward, mostly overheads and variance which I was well prepared for :)

Only 12 more to go :D

Thought I'd give another update. I have passed all my CIMA CBA's so am through the certificate level and am currently studying for three exams in November, P1, P4 and P7.

All in all it has been pretty straightforward so far, but we'll see how Novemeber goes.

Another update, have now sat P1 and P4 with P7 tomorrow. Both papers seemed quite straight forward s I'm hoping it will be the same again with P7. It'll be a relief to get them out of the way and chill a bit :D

Thanks, same to you with P7 (just hope there's no cash flow statement - I hate them!).

TOPCIMA seems easier than the strategics at the moment. The only ways in which it's harder is

- remembering loads of real life industry examples
- you have to right like an absolute mad man for three hours solid, and I'm literally in pain by the end!

Cash flows are easy, if you remember the pro forma! My friend didn't learn it for the last sitting and bombed the paper.

P4 today was a bit of a waffle and there were very few specifics in the paper which surprised me, not that I'm complaining :)

Just a further update. I sat my 8th and 9th papers today. I'm pretty happy with them so I have to wait a little while for the results but I'm quite happy. Anyone else got exams tomorrow and thursday?

With the change in syllabus it's hard to question spot. My mate just told me that P2 was solid, but E2 was pretty nice imo. Cash flows are easy marks if you know the pro forma so don't skimp on that.
