Cimputer won't POST

Firstly, thankyou to all of the people who took their time to spec me components it's appreciated. I've sent the system off to be fully tested it's looking like a mobo/psu fault atm have not tried with one stick.

Indeed, I hope it's not going to be expensive.
I would have lent you my PSU tester, if you had been more hands on.

Let us know how you get on.
Regards.

Honestly where do I begin?

Computer has been fixed. Hoooorah.

All components taken out cleaned and refitted and, turns out this was just a faulty kettle lead.

Thanks for all the feedback it'a appreciated.

Thanks, crixxzeh.

yeah, might be a idea doing some more digging on it as if that was the case the PC should have worked first time when they looked at the unit unless you supplied the power cable for the PC as well?

So after the next day of the system being given back. The same problem is still occuring.

Even with the new kettle lead. :(

Im seriously thinking this could be a faulty psu, why?

Because like one person said on this post already, when the kettle lead is taken out and left for a while and then put back in, the system will actualy boot up and start as if nothing has happened (play games etc).

This is really, really puzzling me.

So was not the power cable after all, take it back to the shop to find the fault as you have already paid them to find the issue

TBH, I would have used the money that you wasted with that PC shop and bought a used PSU on MM. If it turned out that it wasn't the PSU you could have sold it again on MM only losing p&p.
Much better than taking it to one of these backstreet conman PC shops. Sounds like they done you up like a kipper.

EDIT: Go here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18638233 and buy this PSU, test and sell if it's not the PSU at fault.

Seems you are asking for advice and then ignoring it all.
I feel I am banging my head against a brick wall.

Good luck, I fear you may need it.

I'm out.
