Here's my little cinema, incorporating a few ideas some of you may be interested in using in your rooms....

Kit is a ceiling mounted Barco Data 808s, Denon 3801, HCPC running TT & Dscaler, sweetspot card & wall mounted 15" Sony TFT, 5 Monitor Audio Silver series speakers, not a single cable to be seen...and a home made DVD case...

The walls have been painted chocolate suede, the ceiling in a lighter suede paint, curtains and screen pelmet are a heavy chocolate suede.

Still pretty wife friendly, but pitch black during a movie....

Room dimensions are 13' x 24'

At the top and bottom of the screen are some 8' wide roller blinds, covered with black velvet which can be manually moved up and down to mask the screen for 2.35 presentations, also stops for 1.85:1 and 16x9.

Watching a film masked to the correct aspect ratio is something else...

Be interesting to see any other guys cinema rooms.

Would you kindly rehome them (imageshack or similar would do) for the benefit of those that dont post on AVForums?

Good job with the velvet masking. I'm picking up a new projector soon and have been considering something similar. What screen is that btw?

cant see the pictures either :(
i think its because you've linked them through avforums and you've attached it via there forum attachments, and as such you need to be a member to get to see the pics

Yeah thats what I did with the pics, didnt know how else to attach them or host them.....it's worth joining avforums anyway as there is some very good advice to be found there which is not pc related - I use avforums for av stuff, here for pc advice....!
Anyway, if I ever work it out, i'll attach them here...
By the way, the screen is a fixed frame screen, made with black out cloth - I did have a very expensive electric screen, but the material is so similar to blackout I sold the screen and made my own - there is no difference in pq!

And although the missus is undecided, the Hans Solo DVD cabinet i think is a winner!!!!

The masking hides the black bars you normally see when watching 2.35:1 or 1.85:1, which seems to bring out the picture more if you know what i mean, as the viewable screen is perfectly framed by velvet...

** Thanks Mohinder for the photo help, you da man!!!! **

I recognises *** cover of your DVD cabinet straight away - Im sure it looks much better in the flesh, is the quality good?are you able to say where it came from?

Nice. Noticed MX-500 remote, if you're thinking about upgrading give me a shout (I use MX-500's and MX-700)

My system is better apart from your PJ is nicer than what I have, although yours is a wife friendly/neater.

The DVD case door is full size - 6' high, and came from a well known auction website....It is excellent quality, made from pressed steel/aluminium or something.....
