How did you go about getting yours and how long did it take? Can you recommend any methods of training or training companies?

After my previous thread about training i've pretty much decided to go down the CCNA route, and found this as a starting point: http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?C01T216

Personally i'd avoid a course that's going to try cram it in within a few days just so you can pass the exam.

You'll learn so much less.

I'm taking the course at a local college, I live in a relatively small town so i'm sure you can find somewhere that does the same.

Much better having a proper tutor and acess to real kit to play with.

Did you consider the online OU course? How often do you go to the college? Is it evenings only?

I am doing ccna we dont even do practicals

It's 3 hours a week on Thursday mornings, fortunately work allow me the time off for this. I decided to take this course over spending 4 nights away somewhere even though this will take 2 years.

There's a reason for this taking so long though, the class is also a degree module, so there's practical exams and coursework in there at the same time.

I didn't consider the OU no.

If you have a good tutor then I would still do it at a college.

I much prefer having someone teach me than reading it out of a book, and in a class environment questions get feeded around and I find it much, much better for learning.
