Does anyone know a way to make the Cisco UCCX call centre phone client failover automatically to the secondary server if the primary fails? I've previously created a second phone application but haven't used it as I didn't like the solution (required the user to be switched on otherwise they don't get any calls!) but have just kept it there in case I get desperate and can tell the call centres what to do at the time.

I've done a bit of googling and they've skirted around the subject with a few references to what I've already done.

Thanks.

What version are you using? It's possible in v8 to get the client to automatically log on to the secondary according to the SRND (Page 1-16) as long as you've bought the HA license, must admit I've never tried it though.

We're using version 8.5. According to that document there isn't an option for automatic failover on the phone agents.

"Agents using IPPA will need to manually log in to the new master Cisco Unified CCX Engine server"

Unfortunately many of our call centres don't wish to use the desktop agent which does failover.

Apologies, skip-reading will be the death of me - didn't realise you were talking about the phone agent. I doubt it is possible to be honest - Cisco like to push CTI where possible, and for many of these things (Administrative Assistants is another example) the "full" functionality isn't available unless you install the desktop component.
