Citrix problem - IE opening doc files

Hi

I have a weird problem. i have a got a user (all citrix applications, nothing local) who is using IE7. They are going to a site and opening up a word document. This then proceeds to open up in Acrobat Reader 9 and of course they get an error message saying that it cannot be opened.

I have checked all the file associations using assoc and ftype commands and they are all correct on the citrix server. If the user saves the word documents and then opens it using windows explorer (again though citrix) the file opens fine in Word.

Does anybody know how to control what program will open with .doc extension through IE7. Or does anybody have any other ideas.

Have you checked from the actual server itself by going to the folder options, just in case?

Yeah, I have checked the server. The file associations are all correct. It is only happening when opening when opening a word document from IE.
