I bought a TIM cleaner "Akasa TIM clean" from ocuk. On the AS5 site I was reading the instructions and it said...

"NEVER use Citrus oil based cleaners on base of heatsink. The oil which is engineered not to evaporate will fill in microscopic valleys in the metal and significantly reduce the effectiveness of applied termal compond."

On the Akasa bottle it says... "Citrus based solvent", yet it was recommended on these forums. Is it ok to use or should I get another?

Used the Akasa stuff for years and never had a problem. Cleaned loads of cpu's and heatsinks, does a good job.

if your worried you could always buy a bottle of isopropyl alcohol to use after the akasa stuff, that would remove any residue if indeed there is any
