CityLink :@

They tried to deliver a keyboard snapped in two to me a few years ago. I lol'ed hard and rejected it, saying something along the lines of 'you can't seriously expect me to accept that do you?'

I have no doubt that there are scum who do that kind of thing, but I was replying to that guy who said a picture of a front door is no proof. If the date and time match up to when they said they would deliver, and the picture is quite clearly a picture of your front door then I would say that's fairly reasonable evidence to suggest a delivery was attempted.

Plus I'm sure people have things near/next to the door that can distinguish their number 30 from someone else's, or whatever. My front door is fairly distinguishable to me, as I can see through the glass and see the objects on the other side. If someone just posted a random door it'd be obvious that it was a fake.

You can take a picture of someone's door without knocking on it or ringing a bell or buzzer.

As above, i watched a City Link driver 'attempt' to deliver something a few doors down as i pulled up outside my house the other day. To be fair he did get out his van with a package, stood outside the door, put the package down, took a photo of the door, then put a card through the door. Never knocked. Obviously no one opened the door to accept the package as they had no idea he was inside.

I had purchased from one of the competitors who use citylink out of the 8 times I bought something from them 6 of those times citylink didn't deliver. I was standing behind my door one day when he put the card through the letterbox, wasn't happy when I opened the door.

This is exactly the type of behaviour I do not understand. Surely it can't be cost effective for a company to purposely set-up re-deliveries? And in order to be balanced this isn't just CL, I've experienced this behaviour from Yodel also.

Absolutely no attempt to knock, press door-bell or anything. Just ninja post a card.

What if they take a photo of your front door with the package and label in clear shot? Pretty coincidental that it would 100% match up with your door if it was indeed a bogus photo. Plus I'm sure that the date, time and in some cameras/phones the location can be checked.

Sorry but a photo of someones door does not, and will never be proof of a delivery.

unless they take a photo of you actually holding the item...then this is just nonsense easier to just avoid city link.

they seem to forget to deliver tbh. ive had parcels from them given to me by a old guy (no uniform, just his id round the neck) in what looks like his own car at 6.30pm.

and if they do the disappearing trick, its a 2 and a half or 3 hour round trip to get a parcel as they dont have a depot anywhere near the city!

they (and only them out of the companies i have used) fume me.

Atleast you can claim. My sister bought a bracelet and it got delivered through RMSD and obvs needed to be signed for, we never signed it went through the letterbox. xD We will be claiming.
FYI - This is called fraud and is a criminal offence.

ah advertising the fact you'll break the law, good man, why not post your address and allow some civic minded chap to burn your house down and do society a favour.

What I have gathered from all these threads is that anyone who wants to send or receive a package, the package is guaranteed to be lost, broken or the delivery driver will steal it and urinate through your letterbox. Everyone should just risk getting mugged or carjacked and hand deliver things.

I assume UPS and TNT are good though, because you can't make their names into a witty insult of their service.
