Civic Type R, the proper one...

They ran a questionaire through the forums of what people would change and like to see in a new FN2 model and apart from the obvious looks and suspension quips, LSD and C/W was the most common request and they listened

They're pretty rare now they aint making any cars at the moment and I beleive they come with all the main options you can get on the standard car like ipod, bluetooth, glovebox cooler (WTF) and whatnot.

It's a decent car, but the FD2 imported is around the same price if not much cheaper now. Much nicer car and has more power.

That's a SE colour, they've made a few in that colour with LSD's fitted. They still can't sell them though.

I know it sounds absolutely bonkers and it'll prolly induce WTF type comments but I'm churning round the FD2 versus a 325D M Sport. On the one hand I want the thrill of that Civic and on the other I'm wondering whether the image of it is perhaps a bit too young for me now.

Ha Ha - old boy!

If I remember your not that much older than me and I'm still pishing about with Imprezas.

I see where your coming from though.

I go driving with a few Type-R owners and most are in their 30's and up to their 50's (and show us young uns up a bit too :() and most have mods etc thrown in including a 360bhp EP3. Hot Hondas have a huge rice boi chavtastic image but a lot of the genuine owners are older, especially with regards to the DC5's and FD2's.

I would never buy a car based on what Mrs Bucket thinks mind you, I'd prefer something I want rather than need (but then I'm 23 ;):p ). Nowt wrong with the BWM mind you, but I reckond there's more yound uns in diesel 3 series than there are hot Hondas these days!

Who cares about Image!? Look at Jonny :p

No idea how much you plan to spend but R32's are good value at the moment and might be a good middle ground.....as you like the Passat image ;)

Litchfield have no demo available, having just sold it.

They might have one coming in next week, will call me if it comes in - the owner is starting to run up a lot of miles in it and wants to offload before the residual nosedives, ironically same reason I had to get shot of the DC5.

All their cars show 219g/km on the V5's.

I've had a look at 200bhp cars website - they have one but they don't appear to do finance - I need to deal with people who can also sort the finance out. Come to think of it I forgot to ask Litchfield if they do finance, I've assumed they do, hmm, need to check that.

Still no word from work as to what sort of mileage I'll be doing but I've told them I'm waiting for their advices so I can either order a vtec powered transformer or a chip fat powered outside lane road blocker, in M Sport flavour.

Torque GT down this way always seem to have some in. Saw a dark silver one today and looked very nice

Nice choice Julian, would love one of these too when I move on from the S but I think a nicely modded DC5 will be next on my list (if I were to get a Honda) :)

Can't think why you'd want to go for a DC5 from a supercharged S2000.

You're either nuts or pregnant. :p

I'd not be buying a vtec, I'd be buying a razor sharp fast road car.

We'll see. 15k a year I'll take the Honda, 20k - 25k I'll take "a" BMW.

Both good results in their own rights and not to be sniffed at, just a bit miffed I couldn't get a test drive as I have an entire weekend free for once.

VTEC is crap.

Lots of miles: 320d M Sport Touring
No miles: 335i M Sport Touring
Coming from the person who drives his bmw at 60mph in the middle lane of a motor way because there is some snow on the grass? If you've ever driven a vtec car, I'd be surprised if you rev'ed it enough for it to kick in!
