Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Making my way through the main story. I have met Esquie and have moved on to Stone Wave Cliffs.

However there are some enemies that can literally one shot me.

For example, the mime in Esquie's cave. I gave up because he literally kills me with every attack.

When I looked at some videos on YouTube I noticed that people have a lot more health than I do.

Which means they must be coming back to take on the mime because to have the amount of health they have means they must be much higher levels.

I think atm my characters are around level 15.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but there are enemies which aren't necessarily meant to be fought as you come across them. They're kinda like optional challenges most people taking them on will probably backtrack to do, so I'd not be too concerned about the mime.

There are 100% enemies in areas that you should rerturn to - I'm fairly certain the game makes that point in the very first area with a chromatic enemy.

That being said, mimes become extremely easy, albeit a slog, once you have their pattern down. You do not have to fight them through.

I have been playing this game recently, love the soundtrack!
There are some bangers, don't want to spoil anything but my favourites;

  • When fighting a playable character in the icy area
  • Fighting gestrals in their forest
  • A certain second fight with a boss - this one made me put down the controller

Just bought the game and played about 20 mins but already totally sucked in. It's a real sleeper hit like The witcher was from an unknown studio. I like that sort of stuff gives me hope for many more great games.
