Clamed my bell-end with a pair of dumbells

Well I don't know how true that is, but either I'm very stoic (which is possible as I've injured myself many times and never needed pain killers) or it has some truth in it as I can tollerate a lot of pain.

Not weights related but happened in a gym all the same:

A couple of times now I've witnessed one of those large swiss gym balls come off the mats where they are located and roll to a treadmill, jam underneath the back of it, the treadmill stop extremely suddenly and the person on it carry on running. The result is a massive thud followed shortly by the person ending up in heap on the floor.

Pretty bad really considering neither time was it the fault of the person running. The second time I saw it which was actually yesterday it was a gym instructors fault who had just let the ball loose while he stood having a chat! The guy didn't even apologise!

Quite funny to be the observer but if it ever happens to me i'll be extremely ******!

Isnt it true that exercising of any kind but especially bodybuilding hightens your pain threshhold? I think ive read that somewhere but it might have been one of those BS facts that float about on the net.

When I was at uni there were some students doing a series of tests specifically for this phenomena. On entering the gym they placed a point on the base of your finger nail and loaded it up with a weight. You had to give an indication of the pain from 1-10. As you were leaving they tested you again. I don't know what the result was or where it got published (if at all) so essentially this post is just me rambling on

Anyways.......worst injury has been dropping a 20kgs disc from about a foot onto my ring finger on my left hand. Landed right on the end and bust the whole thing wide open. Had to go to A&E to get it stitched back together while a load of student docs looked on. Took twice and long and hurt twice as much because the nurse was explaining IN DETAIL which parts my finger were damaged and how they needed to be rearranged :(:(

All I can is ouch!!
Saw a guy laying on the bench seat doing seated leg raises high above his head with weights, cue a couple of reps, slip, crash, blood pouring out of the dudes head!!
Looked pretty painful

I've torn the left shoulder capsule and had several subluxations, the first with 30 kilo on the end of my arm, which then forced the shoulder back and allowed my arm to swing out allowing me to hear the crunch and tear over my headphones.

Also forgot to put the collars on the Z bar one time, que me picking it up and turning round to face the mirror and all the discs sliding off either end and crashing to the floor.

Haha, hilarious-I'm with the others though, who are wondering why you are shrugging with your hands out in front rather than at your sides.

I've seen this little cocky chavvy kid (probably about 16 or 17) eyeing up one of the female personal trainers and trying to bicep curl 22kg to show off. He promptly managed to drop it on his toe just as she walked past!

DB Shrugs 101:
Hold DBs at side of body

up
down

that is all :p

I know Morba but a mate was having a go at me from not doing them at the front and rolling my shoulders. I always preferred the way you have suggested above. Teach me to be more careful though ;)

It didn't happen to me but my friend was doing lat pulldown when the fastening on the cable broke. He smashed the bar onto his head knocking him out and lots of bleeding. It also smashed his teeth together and cracked them.

The worst thing i have done was doing dumbell shoulder press and my shoulder poped and i dropped a dumbell on my head.

lol @ these

That last one sounded nasty ^^

I smacked myself in the face whist doing some curls with the cable ...... didnt relise the weight was so low lol ..... i dont think anyone seen me :p

makes literally no difference for a normal trainer whether its at the side or front. rolling is bad regardless though :p

Nothing too exciting for me I'm afraid, I've caught my hand between some 20kg weights whilst I was loading up the bar for some squats which hurt and bruised me but no blood unfortunately. Scraped shins doing deadlifts as well.

Got a spot of tennis elbow at the moment which developed after a gym session but not really the kind of thing this thread is about.
