Clamshell cases 15.6"

I've been checking out various clamshell cases, like Targus, Technika, and I've narrowed it down to two I like.

which can be bought for £11.98, but sells for £29.99 in the high street. I've not seen one in person but it looks like nice in the pictures.

and the Port Manhattan II

which is also sold in the high street at £29.99 but I've not found it online any cheaper than around £22. I do really like the Port Manhattan as I've seen it in person, but I'd rather spend £11.98. So, are Belkin cases good quality, better or same as Port Designs? Is this case likely to have good padding as I know some cases are a bit flimsy.

So in the second image, the RED thing is used to make your laptop fit the case depending on the size?

No wonder mine wouldn't fully fold over my new laptop, oops :D

Best thing would be to look at them in the highstreet, as you've done your onlnie research.

You need tog et up-close and personal with the cases, see if they are flimsy or not, if they are, tick them off your chart.
 
Heh. Yeah, I believe it's a divider for butting up against the laptop if it's smaller than 15.6". I like that red. The Port Manhattan has a black one.
 
Well, I bought the Belkin just now. :) It's really nice, with simple clean lines, grey logo'd cloth and the red divider. Everything I wanted. Less zippered pockets than the other and more velcroed pockets, but no big deal. The best bit is, I'd forgotten I was given £30 of Love2Shop vouchers as a gift from the place I upgraded my phone in june. So it cost me nothing plus I got a penny change. :D I'll do some photos later.
 
Doh. It fits with no room to spare. I realised the divider is for putting things like the charger in the same compartment. Otherwise the charger can go in an outer pocket but bulges a bit and I want the case as flat as possible. The width of my laptop is just under 15" so to use the divider and put the charger and cable next to it I'll need an 18" case. Gonna return this one. Pity, it looks really nice.
 
I did a direct swap for an 18" Targus case, same price. It's perfect. :) Really nice quality, lots of storage space, nice red highlights here and there. And a strap that is actually centred, not like many others which oddly have the strap more to the left. Lockable zippers too. £29.99, I'd say that's good value.
