Well the Escort RS Turbo MK 2 has recently turned 40 so can be called a Classic now.

I was from the generation that viewed the MK 2 Escort as an old relic and always preferred the newer Escorts.

I was born in 1986 and growing up there were still quite a few about but the MK3's were the new ones, they are cool but I prefer the older ones. I was more of a Ford Sierra kinda boy back then I still like the ford Sierra but the MK2 Escort looks pretty fine, as a nice little runner.

Classic cars, where to start. So many to pick from.

I fell in love with the Ford Falcon GT 351 when we were in Oz. This whole showroom was rammed with massive V8 muscle but this Ford really stood out. They moved it to the back whilst we were standing there and that engine made the ground shake. When he revved it a bit the whole body tilted too. Probably drives like jelly but good grief is this a badass car. That was also the day I decided that the whilst the yanks might think they're the land of the V8, Australia blows them so far out the water they may as well all be driving Priuses.

Always wanted a Lotus Esprit for some reason! But I'll probably just need to be happy with my MX5

I'd love one, especially the V8. I used to see them quite often at the specialist I took my Elise to and they look amazing in person. Half the time there would be there because they had some big issue though. You need a big budget to keep them maintained.

Lotus after they switched away from British engines and Lucas electrical parts became way more reliable.
