Classic films / TV you have never seen?

I've never seen Lord of the Rings nor the Hobbit but I have read the books. I have however seen the 1970s cartoon of LOTR that only got half completed because I think the main guy died before he could finish it.

Obvious classics I haven't seen but would like to see:

- Hunger Games
- Matrix series
- Top Gun
- Trainspotting...!
- Despicable Me / Minions
- Ice Age / Madagascar 2 onwards
- Armageddon
- some Disney remakes e.g. Mulan, the Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Wendy
- some Disney animations e.g. Inside Out, Coco
- Puss In Boots 2
- The Chronicles of Narnia
- most of the Mission Impossible films
- Mad Max 4
- Fast and Furious 2-10
- Highlander

Classics that I haven't seen and probably not interested in:

- most Marvel and Star Wars films
- more obvious classics like Titanic and Gone with the Wind
- the Twilight films
- The Passion of Christ
- Zootopia / Zoomania / Zootropolis / Zoo-copyright police / Zoowtfbbq

Classics that I haven't seen and not 100% sure about yet:

- the Transformers films
- Dirty Dancing
- Barbie / Barbenheimer :p
I think you've only got 3 or 4 actual classics on your list there :D

Just watch Matrix 1, Trainspotting, Mad Max Fury Road, Highlander, MI series and bin the rest tbh.

Add Armageddon & Top Gun if you want some cheese.

After checking a couple of Top 100 film lists I picked out a few notable ones that I have definitely heard about and know are renowned, but seem to have gone without.

Brokeback Mountain
Spirited Away
The Shawshank Redemption

But apart from the various foreign art films, I've pretty much seen everything on these lists.

TV:

Game of Thrones - I was never sure on this, everyone I know raved about the series at the time!

Oh, just DON'T!!!

The first half a dozen seasons are superb, but the series overtook the books and the last two seasons are written by Hollywood types - they are a total disaster. Honestly, there is a better finish to the story, that actually makes sense, by a youtuber.

Jaws.
The Godfather trilogy - I think I seen a bit of 1.
Any Iron man after the first one (thought it was rubbish)
Most of Marvel.

:p

The Lord of the Rings is superb, but get the extended editions. Too much of the story is missing in the normal versions.

The Hobbit is drivel. Especially if you read the book.

Occasionally I fall across a series I hardly ever watched, or do not remember watching on Talking pictures TV. Reruns of the Saint with Roger Moore and Public Eye with Alfred Burke are examples.

Recognising budding young actresses like Tessa Wyatt (Mrs Tony Blackburn for a while). All in glorious black and white as well.

Warnings about language and inappropriate attitudes of the time as well. History is such fun.

Go and watch Armageddon now, it's one of my favourite films although it is **** going by reviews but I've watched it so many times and I find it incredibly entertaining, it probably transports me back to happier times in my child hood but it makes me an emotional wreck when I watch it lol.

Puss in Boots 2 and Mad Max 4 are incredible too.
