New seats are in, but need to do some colour matching on the dye as under flash you can see the blotchiness.

My favorite classic seats are the blue suede ones. Bought some for my UK car (it was sonic blue) and they came as standard in my Type RA (it was a WRC Ltd)

4 Pot brakes arrived today and they were pretty rusty on the back side so have ordered some citric acid to bathe them in, should tidy them up ready for some paint.

Also my Major_Sarcasm ECU chip arrived which should see some economy improvements off boost, and a small hike in power on boost on the proviso I run it on 97 (which I do) and switchable back to original map.

4 Newage coilpacks should arrive tomorrow (with loom tails), so converting the car to those will hopefully solve my misfire before I change the ECU chip. If not, MAF sensor is next to try.

:D

Yup looking to keep this one stock cept maybe the brakes (and larger stock wheels to cope if required)

Re-read what you wrote for me there for a moment yea....

Really. Don't do the ecu mod. It will be a slippery slope towards an empty pocket and a broken engine!

You know of this ECU chip mate?

I know you map cars, so am assuming you know of some problems? Main reason for fitting this was improved off boost economy, not so I can thrape it about. (updates the ECU to Z4 state)

The mods I am doing are not to improve performance as much as update the car and make it less cumbersome (better brakes, new wheels which have massively improved the way it drives, new coils to avoid the problems with the older coils, and new interior to update and get rid of the old grandad leather in it.) I have not spent more than £100 on any of these parts so far bar the wheels, which newly refurbished and with brand new tyres came to £350, effectively free with the tyres. (the Nan-Kangs on the old wheels had to go, brand new or not). 4 pot brakes cost me £70 with lightly worn pads.

If the chip is that bad, I can easily sell it on for a profit :)

Well I am well and truely on the slippery slope now, just received a near new cat back system I picked up for peanuts, need more burble ;)

Have fitted a new centre console with armrest, and have a front console to take a double din stereo, car has been very reliable, still starts first turn of the key, but a slight misfire when cold is still there as I havent fitted the new coilpacks and ignitor delete yet. Have also got a new green MAF to go on.

Still running the stock ECU, and last major journey I scored a pathetic 20mpg, but I can afford it, so what the hell :)

Been on the lookout for a reasonable second hand engine and box that I can recondition at my leisure and put in some decent parts as budget allows, might even just buy a second car and break it for the parts, as I have a double garage so can do it at my leisure (a silver facelift car with a bottom end knock would be ideal).

I have stored all the orginal parts so no issues putting it back to standard if need be, although I haven't got originals for the whiteline suspension kit on it.

Fitted the newage coilpack conversion today, car now runs sweet as a nut and pulls hard through all the gears with no hiccups, may have been doing child killing speeds on the bypass tho /slap wrists.
