Long shot but wondering if anyone is into this on here tried searching but found no results, I've never done it before but fancy giving it a go, sculpting some weird and wonderful creatures. I've looked on Google for the past few days for a starter kit but can't find anything, is it worth just getting the bits individually? I've kinda gathered I need a frame made from wire, a stand, some tools to sculpt with and the actual clay. The only kit I've seen which gives you all of this is American based, can't find any from UK suppliers.

Anyone got any advice on where to get started?

I used to do some ceramics and the like, did a GCSE in it then a couple of years of evening classes until the work started to get in the way.

Have a look for pottery or ceramics classes in your local area - generally under adult learning iirc - it may be slightly more pot related but it'll give you a good start on use and manipulation of clay. I'm sure there are sculpture classes around as well.

The problem with just doing it on your own is getting the piece fired and glazed, pretty damn difficult to do on your own.

Cheers for the tips all, will look into some stuff.

I don't want to use zBrush though, would rather have something I can hold in my hands tbh.
