Clean Install on 120GB SSD IDE or AHCI?

Hi,

As the title says I am looking to do a clean install of Win 7 64bit after installing a new one of these 120gb SSD

into my system on a gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 & i5 2500K &8gb xms ram

Does it make any difference & if so what?

You'll need it set to AHCI for the SSD.

Set AHCI in the bios before you install windows.

In a sense yes it does because AHCI is for SATA connections

Don't forget to disconnect any HDD's you have before installing Windows on the SSD.

If you don't do this some Windows files could be installed on the HDD.
