Managed to grab one locally from Facebook Marketplace in great condition for £250, the problem is it came from a smokers home so has that musty smoky smell. I've read that cleaning 2nd hand furniture with vinegar can remove the smell but could that damage the Herman Miller? Has anybody got any recommendations?

I'd try an auto valeter, they'd likely have the gear and experience to clean it. Might cost you a few £££ but worth it as opposed to the risk of doing it yourself and ruining a £250 chair

Did you buy it from Bristol? I might have bought the other one... yes it smells of smoke... I’ve been spraying it down with vinegar and leaving it outside, it’s getting better.

Let me know what you try and how you get on!

try using a steam cleaner if you have one - can put some vinegar/disinfectant into the water to help with cleaning and the smell.
