Cleaning a TFT monitor

I've recently found several smudge lines running top to bottom on my 2001WFP and I'm wondering whats the best way to remove them, if there is some special cleaning cloth etc.

I've tried several cleaning products but found most leave a residue.

Best thing I've found is a slightly damp lint free cloth. Looks like new afterwards.

sorry but how do you know if it's lint free and what happens if you use a non-lint free cloth?

Don't use toilet paper, kitchen towell etc.

You'll be OK using a soft duster or something similar.

Best and cheapest way ive found over the years is to get a good cloth and rest it over a jug of boiling water so it gets hot and steamy then just gently rub over your tft.

i just used a damp cloth (glasses cleaner ones) and it's spotless now, excellent, thanks
