Cleaning cigarette lighter

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2007 honda civic and the cigarette lighter wasn't working in it. I quickly discovered that the fuse had blown so i've replaced that but the empty holder is full of grease and gunk. Whats the best way of cleaning it ?

I don't want to test it with the new fuse until i've given it a good clean incase i blow the fuse again.

Remove it and get it in the sink .

If it doesn't look like it can be removed, I would use a damp ear bud, possibly with IPA on it. I did that on all my retro consoles without issue, but do keep IPA away from any circuitry.

Ah i didn't know they could be removed. I'll give that a try
