Cleaning GPU

I'm about to fit my first water block, on my GPU. I plan to use Arcticclean to clean the original thermal pads off the chips etc. Whilst I usually use part 1(remover) then part 2 (purifier) for cpu's etc, I just wanted to clarify that I can use ( part2) the purifier, on the black ram chips etc.

Also, does it really matter if the inlet/outlet are at the top or bottom if the rad is positioned vertically, outside my case.

Regards the rad, you will find it a bit easier to bleed if the inlet/outlets are uppermost with the case upright, unless the rad has a bleed screw. Still doable with them at the bottom but it would require more case manipulation compared to having them at the top.
