Cleaning Gravestone

I've used a product called HG Headstone Cleaner, sprayed it on the headstone, gentle scrubbing with a stiff brush and left it to work. After a couple weeks it looked brighter and cleaner, I was surprised that it took a while to work but it takes time to kill the lychen and moss. A sort of bleaching effect. Be very careful with how hard you brush as you dont want to remove any painted letters etc

Simple Green works well. I’m pretty sure it’s relatively expensive in the UK but I haven’t found anything that matches it for general purpose work.

i can't speak for gravestones specifically but 'wet and forget' has worked well for me for other garden marble and concrete applications (unrelated but well on driveways, fences and patios too)
Could mix a small amount in a spray bottle and leave it, practically cleans itself the more it rains; clean once a year to prevent future build up.

Come on this is a site linked to a computer shop - Isopropyl alcohol of course.

In all seriousness, when I want something cleaned when all else as failed it works a treat.

If it's limestone/sandstone then you shouldn't need much more than a soft bristle brush and some soapy water. Just don't go to hard as they pretty soft stones as stones go.
