Cleaning my engine

sensible option

1) find any exposed electrical parts (such as alternators) or air intakes and cover with tin foil

2) clean the engine bay with a degreaser.
Meguiars super degreaser would be great, as you can use it on wheel arches and tyres etc.. its not just for the engine

3) using a garden hose, or pressure washer, set the washer to its lowest setting. This should be something approaching a trickle. Gently rinse the car with the engine bay with water, holding the hose pipe up high.

4) remove the tin foil and start the car, leaving the bonnet open.

Leave the car running for at least 5 minutes to help with drying and dry with a microfibre or similar drying cloth.

Job done. Then use Aerospace 303 protectant or similar to dress and make it look nice and shiny.

Make sure engine is COLD.

- Spray WD40 on any electrical connections
- Spray on Auto Glym Engine & Machine Cleaner, Agitate all areas with a brush.
- Power wash off all areas.
- Start Car, Leave to dry
- Spray on Auto Glym Instant Tyre Shine
- Leave to soak in.

Done :D
