cleaning the inside of an oven

Many years ago I called the customer service dept. of a well known brand of cleaner about the warning about not using it on hot surfaces. The very kind lady at the other end of the phone explained, very slowly as she obviously thought I was a simple soul, that this was because their customers might burn themselves.

another vote for mr muscle oven cleaner - its really nasty though - smells of ammonia if i remember correctly - also eats some plastics so be careful, and wearing gloves is not optional - you really need them.

[MEK is a rubbish solvent - i wouldn't use it ;) ]

Bi-Carbonate of soda? Not sure what you do with it but mum says it works

Good luck cleaning the Uni flat oven - it took me two days to do mine! ;)

Hahaha, sounds like a case of baked vomit :D
Yeah, it was. She didn't very much appreciate when I sprayed her in ammonia-smelling oven cleaner then beat her with a brush. However, she did evacuate the premises.

Can Attest to Cillit Bang working really well... even got rid of the brown stain on the glass of the oven.
