Hey guys

Think its time to clean out my CPU cooler, from 47C max on BC2 sesh it went up to 52 on my Phenom II X4 965

So im guessing its the cooler getting dusty.

How do I go about cleaning it ? the finns are very tight etc and it's pretty large.

Titan Fenrir EVO

Compressed air ? What could I use ?

Can of compressed air unless you've got the time to take the arrangement apart - talking of which, a reseat and thorough clean should be done once a year

Hi, buy yourself a electric airbed pump get the strongest one anything from £12 > £ 20. Well worth it, clean your PC about every 2 > 3 months by doing this it will take less time than doing it once a year, it takes me about half an hour to do my case.

Don't know why he is telling you to reseat your heatsink as if you use something like MX4 thermal paste it lasts up to 8 years, even if you did it every 3 - 4 years. Using MX4 myself applied a year ago temps are just as good. :)

Heh .... like the airbed pump idea. Yeah the reseat is probably excessive but I thought if I had to virtually take the motherboard out for a good clean then might as well reseat whilst I'm at it. I've noticed old machines using AS5 would still need a reseat after 2 years but I've moved away from AS5 now.

^^ I agree, I even managed to break the nozzle putting the top where you press back on as it fell off. Cheap crap lol.

Ive washed cpu coolers with the shower on power setting, great for getting the dust out from between the fins. Once washed, leave it overnight in the airing cupboard to dry.
