I like My Name is Earl, and if you like Mallrats, Dogma and Clerks you probably will too. But I think you need to see the series right from the begining. So you'd either have to wait for it to be repeated or buy the DVD when it is out.

i'm really exited about this, and there does look be loads of people in it i'd recognise. that guy who repeated back the lord of the rings stuff in the diner plays Marshall in Alias, which is a great character even if the series isn't popular.

I assume this one is also set during one day, as i think that was one of my favourite things about the original.

so yeah, here's hoping it's out damn soon.

Jay looks a lot different in that trailer, wasn't even 100% it was the same guy until i saw the credits

He's been off drugs for a couple of years now. Looks a hell of a lot better for it as well.

The role of Jay was going to be replaced in Mallrats as the studio didn't like him. They wanted Seth Green to take over even though the Jay role was Mewes.

They didn't even want him on the posters/cover for Clerks as he was too 'funny looking'.

Looking forward to this film though. I have liked all of Kevin Smith's films but feel that Clerks just had the best dialogue.

Best character was Brodie in Mallrats though. Since then always liked Jason Lee - until he named his sone Pilot Inspektor, but he is forgiven 'cause of Earl!

Anyone heard the rumour that Kevin Smith may star in/direct an episode of Earl series two?

Went to see Clerks II on Thursday night and without giving anything away it was really good, the tone was a bit different than I expected(you'll see what I mean when you watch it) but still very enjoyable. I'd recommend it highly, maybe not Kevin Smith's best film but it could be I'd need to watch it again to fully appreciate it.

Right....

Anyone up near Edinburgh for the film festival?

http://www.edfilmfest.org.uk/movies/show/clerks_2/ - UK Premier

However - thats only secondary to this...

http://www.edfilmfest.org.uk/movies/show/reel_life__kevin_smith/

It's a Q&A with Kevin!

Last one I did was advertised as 2 hours...and went on for 3.5 hours instead. :D

Shame I'm nowhere near Edinburgh that weekend. :(

I remember Josh Wheedon doing a Q&A after the Serenity Premiere at the Edinburgh Festival.
The site crashed and the tickets were all gone in 10 minutes. So get in there quick if you fancy it.

I agree it was a little different to what I expected from his previous films, and it isn't the kind of film i'd usually like. But it was EXCELLENT, I really really enjoyed it. The dialogue was just brilliant and I laughed out loud several times :D !

9 / 10

Saw it yesterday, didn't really like the romantic plot but it was well acted I must say. However, the rest of the film 100% Kevin Smith absolute quality.

And I must say to anyone who has seen it did anyone else think Jay was a girl for a brief second in that scene? :D

btw 'gotta finish, gotta finish' :D

Well...

Today is it's official UK release date. :D

It's a fabulous film. :D *ignore the dingbat Jonathan Woss - he hates all things Kevin Smith, as he admitted*

It's a bit soppy in places, but great fun in others.
