I love me a good crafty fix, where you just use what's around you and don't have to wait ages for parts or tools to be delivered. I fix lots of things creatively, especially if I'm away from my workshop.

This week I had to move our TV to a new room while house moving happens. Realised at 6.59pm there's no antenna feed and we couldn't watch Simpsons. Solution? Coax extension out the window, not bad but not great. Added a crocodile clip to bring the live pin outside the shield - perfect signal! :D

What's your latest hack?

"hack"?
This isn't the Daily Mail. Do you mean "Useful tip"?
No, I mean "Thing I figured out for myself that doesn't need to be reusable or passed on at all". Commonly referred to as a hack in my circles.

Couldn't comment on Daily Fail relevance as never read it.

What are your useful tips? :)

tow the line or ban hammer!? lolz

Hack. As in cut to bits. Or hack to gain unauthorized access to a computer system. Doesn't seem to match what this thread is about. Thread title failure.

Radiator fan mount...
Model (old image actually, the one I printed had a cutaway in the bottom to access the clip)
excellent - how did you profile the radiator(cardboard template ?) and get the patten for the clip mechanism (is 'Brexit' Dyson that generous? ) ...

regular hacks (MacGyver'isms ... can't say i ever saw an episode)
replacing rechargeable batteries in razers and electric toothbrushes w/o breaking the plastic clips ... make sure you mark/photo tab locations for next time.
conductive membraine cleaning in remote controls, home phone handsets.

recent -
car window mechanism, sheared plastic slider in metal track - replace with stack of large washers to slide in captive track with through bolt onto window base (>£100 @stealer)
Pen top, spring steel, to replace ratchet mechanism on coffee doser.

I do odd little bits and bobs, like making the underneath of my cooker into a drawer, as opposed to a void not in use.

Used a floor cabinet as a wall cabinet for my AV stuff, things like that.
