Says it all, yet i can almost guarantee on launch day here they will be sold out, must some something magical to some people to replace a number on a cards name . :o

Gonna be a stale few months till proper new cards hit. =/

I don't know why people always write this. If you bought the GTX at the original launch price, all that says is that you could have purchased it a lot later, for a cheaper price and it still wouldn't go out of date.

People who bought GTX's aren't "lucky". I could buy one now for near two hundred, get amazing performance and it still wouldn't be out of date. Plus, it's not a goddamn "investment", it's a graphics card, anyone can buy one, they're rare, precious items or pieces of art and they're worth nothing compared to their launch prices of about half-a-grand.

No I bought it two days ago at an unbelievable low price, can't say more than that or I will get banned. If I bought it for sub £400 then there's nothing to write home about obviously ;)
 
I hope this card falls flat on its face with seriously poor sales, maybe make Nvidia think twice about lazy rebranding of current tech stuff.

Im not buying owt till something a bit more exciting comes along, sure the GX2 will be good but its price is a joke and its hardly a massive jump in performance.

no need to get shirty;)

i paid £329 for my 8800gtx. ouch. but still, yep i am lucky. by rights, it should have be replaced and trounced in to the ground about...ooh, about a year ago. but it hasnt and its still at the front of the pack. It's money well spent in my books:)

yes i could have bought it a lot later. A year and 2 months later but hey, losing £110 on the value of the card was nothing compared to the fun ive had playing games at high res with all the detail right up.

Fair enough man, just thought you were one of those early adopters gloating about how the £500 they spent was justified or something.

Right, bear with me while I find the graph...

Edit: According to Nvidia TDP, the GT uses 105W, the GTS uses 30W more, and the GTX uses another 30W or so above that from all the reviews I can find. 150W from one connector and the PCI-E slot isn't enough as the GTX TDP is ~160W, so whats the problem?

Considering the 9800 is using 1GB RAM, has 754mil transistors, and higher clocks I'd expect it to have more power consumption than the GTS. Similar figures to the 8800GTX aren't suprising.
