Hey,

I got a PC which has an ASUS Xonar D2X Sound Card (Which looks pretty damn sexy by the way). But I was wondering if this "click" sound it makes is normal...it only seems to be once on boot...once on shutdown. I just heard it a few times when I was installing its drivers as i did a new OS install.

I was wondering if anyone on these boards has this card and hears this click sound.

Thank you sir! thats been on my mind for so long everytime I use my PC, but just wanted to finally make sure as I am about to upgrade my CPU fan and was playing around with the sound card and realised the click was definatly from there.

Hehe, that's the amplifiers kicking in/turning off that you can hear. My new Essence STX does it and it's really noticable. But then I think it just reminds me of how much of a beast I have for a computer.

So glad I switched from my old 'snap-crackle-pop' X-Fi Xtreme Gamer... ;)

you mean the relays.

the Xonar's use relays for physical isolation of the front/rear audio ports for better signal quality.
