ClimatePrediction.net on the BBC...

Im just guessing here, but probably 'cos all they are doing is allowing the project to run on their already implemented design. Maybe the interest would draw in more people to thier projects so they dont mind.

Unless of course next episode they get a larger mention. :)

Berkley is only the distributed system component. The actual software and the model it distributes that does the hard work is actually Oxford uni.

I'm in!

It put my username as Dom though, must've missed that when going through the config.

The way this thing is going, it might use more RAM than a 3-day-old Firefox (220Mb  ) :D

I did - I see now it shows up on the site, but not in the BOINC manager. I guess the client doesn't refresh username info :)

Now to load up on other PC, some old Athlon XP...but every little helps :D

Hmm, one of my machines has this in its details page:

Maximum daily WU quota per CPU 1/day
For some reason it seemed to corrupt its WU...it said it was processing but was at 0.00%, with the graphics showing a time/year full of 0s.

So then I try a reset project on it, and now it's saying it's exceeded it's daily WU quota...so it's sitting idle :/

You'll have to wait until tomorrow then, or just detach and re-attach so it gets a new host ID.

My PC corrupted it's first WU too. Second seems to be all good.

i currently have boinc running seti at home..... how would i just add the BBC project without messing up my seti work units/setup?
