Clock Change

I have to work an extra hour. Go to work at 2200 BST and finish at 0700 GMT. That's 10 hours :(

Yeah some people seem to get shafted like this.
My fiancee is a nurse and had to do a 13.5hr shift last year (normal 12.5). So this year she booked the week off to make sure you wasn't rostered on to nights tonight.

To keep it fair I reckon they should ensure that whoever is down for a nightshift when the clocks go back, should also be down for a nightshift when the clocks go forward. Either that start the day shift 30mins early.

Yeh I'm working tonight, but if they think there getting a free hour out of me, it's another thing.

Wait wait wait, does this mean that ill have an hour more or an hour less when out tonight (place closes at 3am)?

Thanks for the heads up. My clock sets itself anyway, but at least now I won't be confused when I wake up tomorrow and my phone is an hour out :).

I find this is a bad idea for Scotland. Looked out of the window this morning at 8am and it was pitch black outside. Now, forward to Monday morning and you have kids making their way to school in the inky darkness. Not exactly safe is it?

It's lighter in the mornings.

Somewhere in Scotland did a trial. They found if clocks weren't changed overall accidents went down.
accidents in the evening dramatically fell, but accidents in the morning marginally went up. So they called it bad as accidents in the morning rose, completely ignoring the afternoon fall in accidents.

Stupid time shifts due to farmers being completely stupid.

The argument over farmers may have been true in the past, but is it really still true today?

Still, I find it difficult enough to wake up as it is, so waking up in the dark isn't really going to work for me. :)

Damn, just spent the best part of the extra hour I'm getting working out how to change my ******** wristwatch. :p
