In the BIOS, it says the CPU Clock Speed is 200MHZ.
In WIndows, I checked the "System Information", and it says it's running at 2210Mhz. There's something wrong here, and I don't know what it is, or what to do.

then its gotta be running at that speed and ignore the BIOS mate, if you feel comfortable I would upgrade the BIOS, but read the changes that it will do to be BIOS and see if you think its worth it

Oh, and is it normal for a 64 bit CPU to take ages in the "Windows is Starting Up" screen?

Hmm, I've just reinstalled and reformated by X2 @ 2.3 and its pretty much instant. However this is on a 180GB ATA HD while I think it was hanging abit on the SATA 74Gb Raptor

Still, bros got it now, im £900 heavier and im ready for conroe. MUHAHAHAHAH :D

Unless your running windows xp x64 edition its not a 64bit cpu.

The speed at which windows loads is more dependant on your hard drive isn't it? Once you are actually into the OS the next hurdle is on the CPU - loading apps, so if you cut down the amount of cruft on the startup then it goes faster.

I find the harddisk seems to be the bottleneck most of the time. In this case its just windows being windows. Mine sometimes likes to sit and do nothing for a minute or so. Reinstall or live with it.

SO I should go and get a new HDD soon?
But this morning, it took around 5 minutes to load, but with my old Sempron 2400, and 768MB Ram, it took 2 minutes.
But the speed of games is significantly increased :)

I never had drivers installed properly, after installing made the load time like 5 secs when it gets to the windows loading screen.
