Hi all

I recently updated my ASUS p5w dh delux BIOS to the latest version.
When my computer posts it states that my clock speed is 3.06ghz. But in windows and cpuz. Its saying my clock speed is 2.4ghz. This only started happening when i updated my BIOS. Does anyone know what i can do to remedy this problem?

You say that windows and CPUZ are "displaying" your clock at 2.4 ?

Are you actually running at 2.4 or 3.06 ?

I would always trust BIOS over anything else.

Ive never known CPUz to be wrong when reading CPU speeds.
Maybe its booting into the Bios at 3.06 but the bios is dropping to 2.4 in order to load Windows due to the clock being to high

i had the same problem not 2 weeks ago and it turned out to be cpu eist(speedstep) was enabled which if i remember correctly slows down you cpu until you actually need it

Thanks Stevieq

i disabled speedstep and my clockspeed is correct now.

thanx everyone else as well for feedback
