while that would be the net effect, it would never go forward 2 hours, it just wouldn't go back one winter.

After a whole winter of waking up at 5.30 am to speak to colleagues in Australia, I'm looking forward to the clocks changing. Oz clocks go back on the same night so we're 2 hours closer

I seem to remember we had a similar trend last year.

Start of year: Lots of snow issues.
Spring: Lovely weather with little rain.

So following last year's pattern, my prediction for this year:

Summer: Two weeks of proper sun, then rain, rain and rain.
Autumn: RAIN
