thanks all

I used Acronis True Image in the end, and all is well.

one thing that I have noticed, in the windows experience, the performance from the hard disc is not any faster, compared to the old hard drives.

Unless it was a really old HDD it won't increase much.

The main gains with storage is to upgrade to a SSD even a cheap one.

The difference between a cheap and a expensive SSD isn't much but the difference between any SSD and a HDD is a lot.

This is mostly for your main drive ofc, if its for hoarding movies or music there's little point in using a SSD for it.
