Cloning a work laptop with bitlocker software issue

My Mrs has a decent laptop that she doesn't actually use much so I had the grand idea of cloning the drive to larger disk and then creating a dual boot system, one with her original stuff on it (which needs to stay on as its got all the network login stuff in it and her data)......and a 2nd partition with the same OS tweaked to how I want it. The existing drive has 3 partitions on it and a some bitlocker software on it which I guess has encrypted the drive. I cloned the drive to an identical sized drive to test things out on booting with that and I got a message up about the bitlocker encyption.......so does anyone know if this is safe to proceed or so I leave well alone? I cant risk messing up her laptop.

when i did MCSA this comes up and basically you should disable bitlocker then clone then re enable it. other wise expect it not to work

Thanks. I guess though with the laptop having restricted access (no admin rights so nothing can be installed) and no decryption key there's no way I can do this?
