I've got a 1TB NVMe drive in my personal computer. I've got 2 M.2 slots on the motherboard. Unfortunately I lost the screw for the second slot.

I want to clone my 1TB drive onto a 2TB drive and then get rid of the 1TB drive. Is using a bit of sellotape to hold it in place for the time it takes to clone the drive a bad idea?

As long as no components
Near the end of it
And you're careful probably OK

Or lay the pc on its side
The m2 should stay in the slot
Without the screw
Just it won't lay flat

Put the PC on its side and add a small CPU cooler on the nvme drive to keep it down. Serves as heatsink + temporary screw replacement.
