Cloning drive issue

I'm currently trying to clone a HDD to an SSD using Macrium Reflect. The cloning process seems to go fine (it worked fine doing SSD to SSD) but when I plug it back into the PC it gets to the Windows logo then restarts. I've set the 100MB partition to active using the Windows 7 disc and tried using startup repair from the disc also as well as changing the BIOS from IDE to AHCI but nothing has worked.

Any ideas? I've tried the clining process twice now and nothing

What mode was your original windows installed in? Ide or ahci?

It was IDE. It seems changing it worked this time. It didn't work last time for some reason...

You have to do a reg hack to enable ahci mode,so it installs the ahci drivers without reinstalling

Download run that while in ide,then restart to BIOS,set to ahci and that's it

Ahci is much faster than ide for ssd's

Thanks for that. It now boots in AHCI mode but it's loading Windows about 20 seconds slower than IDE mode for some reason.

What board? It should be faster

It's an old AM2 gigabyte board. MA790X-UD4P I believe.

Idk amd systems but ahci should be better,you need that for trim aswell,it maintains the drive
